GlassAlert is built to help you know when smart glasses with cameras may be nearby. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information — in short, it does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data at all.
GlassAlert uses your device's Bluetooth radio to listen for public Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertisements broadcast by nearby devices. It checks the manufacturer identifier field of those advertisements against a small list of known smart-glasses hardware makers, and shows you a simple on-screen status and, where relevant, a local notification.
If you add a custom device entry (a Bluetooth manufacturer ID you've personally verified) in the app's settings, that entry is stored only in your device's local app storage. It is never transmitted anywhere, is not backed up to any GlassAlert server (there is no GlassAlert server), and is deleted if you delete the app.
GlassAlert asks for Bluetooth permission so it can scan for nearby BLE advertisements, and notification permission so it can alert you when it detects a high-confidence match. Both permissions are used solely for these on-device functions. You can revoke either at any time in your device's Settings app, though doing so will limit or disable the app's core function.
GlassAlert can only detect the presence of a Bluetooth signal matching a known hardware maker's identifier. It cannot detect whether a nearby device is actually recording, and it cannot identify a specific person. Treat any alert as a signal to be aware of your surroundings, not as proof that recording is taking place.
GlassAlert does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised, and the new version will be posted at this same location.
